พม่าอาจหาญขอจีนตรงๆ ให้ช่วยขวางกองกำลังป่วนศึกโกก้าง

     บีบีซีรายงานวันที่ 19 ก.พ.  ว่า รัฐบาลพม่าขอความช่วยเหลือจากรัฐบาลจีนให้ช่วยป้องกันกองกำลังที่รัฐบาลพม่าเรียกว่าเป็นผู้ก่อการร้ายไม่ให้เข้ามาก่อศึกในเขตปกครองโกก้าง ของรัฐฉาน หลังพม่าประกาศกฎอัยการศึกในพื้นที่ดังกล่าว

     ฮมู ซอว์ เจ้าหน้าที่จากสำนักงานประธานาธิบดีเต็ง เส่ง เผยแพร่แถลงการณ์ในเฟซบุ๊ก ว่า "จำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ต้องมีความร่วมมือกันด้วยความเข้าใจว่า การโจมตีของผู้ก่อการร้ายในพม่านั้นต้องไม่ปล่อยให้มาจากพรมแดนจีน"

     ก่อนหน้านี้ผู้นำกองทัพพม่ากล่าวหาว่ามี "อำนาจต่างชาติ" เข้ามาแทรกแซงสนับสนุนฝ่ายกบฏในศึกครั้งนี้ หลังพม่าเสียกำลังพลไปแล้วอย่างน้อย 50 ราย ขณะที่ทางการจีนปฏิเสธความเกี่ยวข้องและเรียกร้องให้ทุกฝ่ายหาทางออกอย่างสันติ

     รายงานระบุว่าการสู้รบในวันพฤหัสฯหลังประกาศกฎอัยการศึก ยังมีอยู่แต่ไม่ดุเดือดเท่าหลายวันก่อน นับจากที่เกิดการสู้รบระหว่างกองทัพพม่ากับกบฏโกก้างตั้งแต่วันที่ 9 ก.พ.
