นายไพศาล พืชมงคล อุปนายกและเลขาธิการ สมาคมวัฒนธรรมและเศรษฐกิจไทย-จีน ได้ชี้แจงสื่อมวลชนเมื่อเช้าวันนี้ เนื่องจากมีการระบุในสื่อในลักษณะที่สับสนว่า ใครคือนายกสมาคมฯ ซึ่งมีความสับสนในลักษณะเช่นนี้บ่อยครั้ง ทั้งในประเทศไทยและในประเทศจีน
จึงชี้แจงให้ทราบโดยทั่วกันว่า สมาคมฯ มีและเคยมีนายกสมาคมฯ โดยลำดับดังต่อไปนี้คือ
1. นายกสมาคมผู้ก่อตั้ง ซึ่งดำรงตำแหน่งตั้งแต่ก่อนและเมื่อมีการก่อตั้งสมาคมฯ จนถึงปี พ.ศ.2543 คือพลเอก ชวลิต ยงใจยุทธ อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรี
2. นายกสมาคมกิตติมศักดิ์ คือผู้ที่เคยดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคมฯ มี 3 คนคือ
2.1 ดร.สมคิด จาตุศรีพิทักษ์ ดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคมฯ สืบต่อจากพลเอก ชวลิต ยงใจยุทธ และปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งเป็นรองนายกรัฐมนตรีด้านเศรษฐกิจ
2.2 พลเอก วิชิต ยาทิพย์ ดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคมฯ สืบต่อจาก ดร.สมคิด จาตุศรีพิทักษ์
2.3 นายพินิจ จารุสมบัติ ดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคมฯ สืบต่อจากพลเอก วิชิต ยาทิพย์
