เมื่อวันที่ 26 ก.ค. zaobao.com ของสิงคโปร์อ้างอิงจากหนังสือพิมพ์ของกัมพูชาว่า เมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคม รัฐบาลกัมพูชาออก “แผนการต้อนรับจีน” ซึ่งต้องการเพิ่มจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวชาวจีนเข้าประเทศสูงถึง 2 ล้านคนต่อปีในปี 2020
รัฐบาลกัมพูชาเผยว่า กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวต้องการ “สนับสนุน” ธุรกิจต่างๆให้ต้อนรับนักท่องเที่ยวชาวจีน โดยฃรับชำระเงินด้วยเงินหยวนเพื่อ “อำนวยความสะดวก” กับพวกเขานั่นเอง
รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวของกัมพูชาเผยว่า “เราเรียกร้องให้คนในวงการท่องเที่ยว เช่นร้านอาหาร โรงแรม สถานบันเทิงและที่แลกเงินต่างๆ รับการชำระเงินด้วยเงินหยวน เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกต่อการบริโภคของนักท่องเที่ยวจีนในกัมพูชา”
